Douglas Adams Quotes!

March 29, 2011

Douglas Adams (1952 – 2001) wrote The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series and was one of the funniest, coolest and cleverest gentlemen of all time.  He died in 2001 at the age of 49 after exercising which, lest it be forgotten, will fucking kill you.  He described himself as a “radical atheist” so while I did not attend his funeral service, I can only assume he wore sweats.  RIP, Douglas.

“Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff with it after all.”

“If you try and take a cat apart to see how it works, the first thing you have on your hands is a non-working cat.”

“He hoped and prayed that there wasn’t an afterlife.  Then he realized there might be a contradiction involved, so he merely hoped there wasn’t an afterlife.”

“Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news which obeys its own special laws.”

“My absolute favorite piece of information is the fact that young sloths are so inept that they often grasp their own arms and legs instead of tree limbs, and fall out of trees.”

“The kid was deliberately and maliciously watching television at him.”
